Today, we’re excited to announce Follow-Up and Reply Reminders in BuzzStream. Now you’ll never forget to follow up on placement opportunities – and dramatically improve the percentage of opportunities that convert to placements.
Why Follow-Up Emails are Important
Experienced outreach professionals know that polite follow-up messages get great results:
“Always, always follow up on your outreach. I can honestly say that on most link building campaigns, I’ll get more links as a result of my follow ups than I do on the first round of emails.”
– Paddy Moogan, Consultant at Distilled, Author of the Link Building Book
James Agate’s team at SkyrocketSEO found they received more than 30% of their positive responses on the second or third followup:
Time and time again, outreach professionals have found a friendly, brief follow-up message can dramatically improve response rates.
Follow-Up Reminders in BuzzStream
To make follow-ups easy in BuzzStream, we’ve added a couple of new features:
Reminder Notificatiosn
There’s a new icon in the top right corner of your BuzzStream screen:
This icon shows you your Follow-Up & Reply Reminders. You can view them by clicking on the Reminders icon:
You can respond directly to the message by clicking the ‘Reply’ button, or view all of the contacts you need to follow up with by clicking on the ‘View Contacts’ button.
You can also view all of your reminders – even the ones you’ve dismissed – by clicking ‘View All Reminders’:
That’s how Follow-Up Reminders appear in BuzzStream
Setting Follow-Up Reminder on Outreach Messages
To set a follow up reminder, open the Outreach module and select one of these options:
You can select when you’d like to be reminded to send a followup email (settings from 2 days to a week are popular, depending on how often the blogger posts and if they’re professional or hobbyist writers), or be notified on response – so you’ll never miss a follow-up opportunity.
Please let us know what you think – drop us an email at support@buzzstream.com, leave a comment, or tweet us @BuzzStream. Because of technical decisions made in the BuzzBar’s development, we can improve it rapidly. We read every single message, and we’d love to hear from you as we continue to make BuzzStream more powerful and easier to use.

I’m a bit late, but just thought I’d chime in and say how great of an update this is. Bravo, Buzzstream team, bravo.
Thanks Jon!

Summarised the industry pretty well there! 😉
Heh, thanks Sav. Sometimes the throw-away jokes are the funniest.
Thanks for sharing this post about Follow Up and reminders. Its sure a good strategy to improve email marketing campaign. It is a tool that outreach professionals really should take advantage of frequently.

I think this feature is AWESOME after a piece of content has been sent. Many times I don’t know what the URL is or if they had posted my guest blog.
I am hoping it will be more efficient than using Tasks for followups. When I think of tasks it’s about ‘filter through project XYZ’ or something.
Thanks Francisco! Try it out and let us know what you think.
