Product Update: Email Open and Click Tracking

BuzzStream outreach just got a whole lot better. The mad scientists on our team have been hard at work in the lab (with little time for food/drink/Frankenstein-style experiments) getting this latest product update ready. So, without further ado, I am excited to announce that we’ve added email open and click tracking to BuzzStream!

Introducing Open and Click Tracking

The core of our email tracking feature is the ability to track email opens and clicks. How does it work? All you have to do is navigate to our fancy new tracking icon (looks like an adorable dog) and select open and/or click tracking for the email you’re about to send.

Once you’ve done that, BuzzStream will let you know whether your email has been opened or clicked. You can quickly scan through your project by adding our new open and click tracking columns.

In addition, you can see opens and clicks for individual emails simply by navigating to it in a contact history tab. You can look for the “eye-open” icon or the “pointer-click” icon to let you determine which emails have been engaged with, and once you click in to an email you can see which links have been clicked, and how many times.

Email Template Stats

Open and click tracking stats are also viewable by template. This will let you determine which templates receive the most engagement from your contacts so you can select or tweak as necessary. Simply click on “Manage Templates” to review open and click information by template.

New Outreach Filters

To coincide with our email open and click tracking features, we’ve updated outreach filters to improve their flexibility and usefulness. You are now able to filter your contacts based on certain outreach criteria. For example, to prioritize your follow-up efforts, you could quickly filter by people who have opened a specific template but haven’t replied.

  • The ‘Track Opens’ is a great feature and will come in very handy when testing out email subject lines. I was wondering if it’s possible to set Track Opens on the template, so we wouldn’t have to manually choose it with every email.

  • Thanks David!

You don’t need to manually choose it for each email. The tracking options you select persist as you move from contact to contact. So if, for example, you go to a contact and turn on open tracking when you email them, it will remain on when you go to the next contact.

You’re the third person that’s asked about this though, so I think we have some work to do to make this more obvious to people when they use the app. 🙂

    …appreciate the feedback!

Fantastic addition to Buzzstream – been waiting on this one for a while!

Will go a long way to making outreach more effective.

I’m hoping every Buzzstream user in the land now starts testing their headlines!

  • Thanks Sam! We’re excited about this addition too. 🙂
